You have seen the Schlage keypad lock on your front door or garage. This is one of the most popular electronic keyless door locks in homes today, But what if you lost or forgot your Schlage door lock programming code?

Now, you will have to reset the Schlage keypad lock without programming code, so this guide will let you know how to reset the Schlage keypad lock without programming code on a Schlage lock.

How to reset the Schlage keypad lock without programming code?

Please note that for most Schlage keypad lock models, the easy reset steps without programming code are:

  • Step 1: Remove the inside cover.
  • Step 2: Disconnect the battery.
  • Step 3: Press the Schlage button and release.
  • Step 4: Reconnect the battery within 10 seconds,
  • Step 5: Press and hold the Schlage button until it’s green and the lock beeps.
  • Step 6: Try entering the default User Codes. Suppose it unlocks the lock, factor reset success.

Please note: Once the factory is reset without the programming code, you must change the default code to a personalized number.

Resetting Schlage BE365, FE575, FE595, FE695, and BE375 Models

  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2. Press the Schlage button and then release.
  3. The following steps must occur within 10 seconds: Reconnect the battery. The Schlage button or indicator light will light green for one second. Then, press and hold the Schlage button until it lights green and the lock beeps.
  4. Try entering one of the default User Codes. If it does not unlock the Schlage lock, start over at step 2.

Resetting Schlage DE265 keypad door lock

  1. Remove one battery
  2. Press and hold the SET button while inserting the battery back. Hold the set button until a long beep over

Resetting Schlage BE469(Schlage Connect) and BE479(Schlage Sense) Models

  1. Disconnect the batteries.
  2. Press and hold the Outside Schlage Button.
  3. While holding the Outside Schlage Button, reconnect the batteries.
  4. Release the Outside Schlage Button. If you are moving the lock to a new door, install the lock on that door before continuing.
  5. To check that the lock was reset, press the Outside Schlage Button and enter one of the default access codes.
  6. If the reset is successful, the lock will perform a setup routine. Wait until the bolt stops moving. The reset and setup are complete.

Resetting Schlage BE468(Schlage Connect) Model

  1. Disconnect your batteries.
  2. Press and hold down the logo. While you are pushing the logo, reconnect your batteries.
  3. Test your lock with one of your default codes on the back of this guide.

Resetting Schlage Encode(BE489,BE499WB) Models

  1. Take off the battery cover from the inside assembly.
  2. Press and hold the black circle reset button to the right of the thumb to turn on the inside of the lock. The LED will flash red. Hold the button until it stops flashing red (approximately 7 seconds).
  1. When the factory default reset is complete, the LED will light solid blue. It may take up to 10 seconds before it lights.
  2. Your lock is now reset to factory defaults.

How to Change Default Schlage Programming Code?

Please note: After resetting the Schlage lock without the programming code, you’d better change your default Schlage programming code to avoid someone gaining access to the default code.

Here’s how you change the 6-digit default Schlage lock programming code:

  • Enter the original programming code (six-digit code). Wait for three Orange Lights + 3 Beeps.
  • Press the Schlage button, and the keypad turns blue.
  • Press the “3” buttons and wait for the Schlage button to show three Orange Lights + 3 Beeps.
  • Enter the new programming code (six digits) and wait for the Schlage button to show three Orange Lights + 3 Beeps.
  • Re-enter the same new programming code (six digits)
  • If Success! The Schlage button will show one flash green Light + Long Beep.

Then, you can use this new six-digit programming code to program your Schlage.
