Saflok HH6 M-Unit won’t update clocks on locks in the hotel and said, “Probe or lock won’t talk.”

My workplace Saflok HH6 M-Unit won’t update clocks on a few certain locks in the hotel and has issues programming those locks.

When I approach said locks with the NFC probe type to program, it won’t communicate with the card reader on the lock. A page says, “Probe or lock won’t talk.”

What is this all about? I cannot find any info on this matter through manuals available online. Thanks,

It sounds like you’re experiencing a communication issue between your Saflok HH6 M-Unit and certain locks within the hotel. This issue could be due to a variety of reasons. According to the Saflok hotel door lock system user manuals, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot:

  1. Faulty Probe or Lock Hardware: The probe or the lock might have a hardware issue preventing proper communication. You can try using the probe on a different lock to see if the issue persists. If it does, the probe might need to be replaced. If the problem only occurs with certain locks, those locks might need repair or replacement.
  2. Check the battery: The Saflok system relies on batteries to function properly. If the battery in the lock or the portable programmer (the HH6 M-Unit) is low, it can interfere with communication. Replace the batteries and see if the problem persists.
  3. Check the Hardware: There might be a hardware issue with the lock or the HH6 M-Unit. Try to use the HH6 M-Unit on a different lock and see if it can update the clock and communicate properly. If it is, the issue is likely with the locks that are not responding. If the same issue occurs on different locks, the HH6 M-Unit might be the problem.
  4. Software Issue: A software issue with the Saflok HH6 M-Unit could prevent it from properly communicating with the locks. Try restarting the device or, if possible, updating its software.
  5. Interference: Certain environmental factors can cause interference with the communication between the probe and the locks. Ensure no electronic or metal objects are near the locks or the probe during the programming process.
  6. Low Battery: Ensure the locks and probe batteries are sufficiently charged. Low battery levels can cause communication issues.
  7. Contact Saflok Support: If you’ve tried these steps and you’re still experiencing the issue, it’s likely time to reach out to Saflok’s support team. They can provide more specific guidance based on your locks’ exact model and HH6 M-Unit.

Remember, carrying out these steps carefully is important to avoid damaging equipment. Contacting a professional might be a good idea if you’re uncomfortable performing these steps.
