The Oaks smart lock is one of the market’s most advanced commercial keyless door locks. It can be controlled remotely, and it can also unlock automatically when you come near your home.

However, you may experience some problems with your Oaks smart locks. Here, we have listed the most common issues associated with this product and provided tips on solving them.

There are many reasons your Oaks smart lock does not work or your door isn’t closing. Now, let’s outline the most common problems and how to fix them.

Oaks smart lock app is not connecting.

If your Oaks smart lock app doesn’t connect with the smart lock, try these steps:

  • If the app isn’t responding, try restarting your phone or tablet.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the app. Ensure you’re signed into an iCloud or Google account that can be used for device management on your phone. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app from iOS App Store or Google Play. Restart your device after uninstalling and reinstalling to ensure that all data is cleared from memory, which may help solve any issues with connecting to your smart lock.
  • If this doesn’t work, remove any firewall software from your device and then try reprogramming the PIN code from within the app.
  • If none of these solutions resolves the issue, there may be something wrong with your communication between the lock and your mobile device. In this case, contact the Oaks customer support team right away!

The Oaks smart lock is not working.

The most common problem with any smart lock is that it may not work correctly. This can be caused by several factors, such as whether the batteries are charged if the app you are using to control it is installed correctly, or if there is an issue with the hardware itself.

If your Oak smart lock isn’t working correctly:

  • Remove and replace batteries: The first step is to remove the battery cover from the back of your device and replace it with new ones if needed. Make sure you use two new AA batteries (not included). If that doesn’t fix things, try a different brand of AA batteries.
  • Reset your Oaks smart lock: If replacing the batteries does not work, try pressing and holding the reset button 3s-5s until you hear the sound “DiDi” and try to connect again. This will reset it back to factory settings, so ensure nothing significant has been lost, like code or other personal data, before doing this!
  • Check to make sure that your app software is up-to-date.

Alternatively, if you’ve noticed that one side of your door seems heavier than another when opening or closing it manually—which could mean uneven floors throughout—you’ll want to use some shims underneath each hinge (preferably wood ones). Hence, both sides get equal pressure when opening/closing for maximum efficiency.

  • Check the battery level. If your smart lock isn’t turning on, it could be because the battery is low. Try replacing old batteries with four new AA batteries.
  • Make sure you have the latest firmware installed on your smart lock. Go to settings > system > firmware update and check that the latest version has been installed successfully or update if necessary.
  • There’s an issue with your Wi-Fi connection from the hub to the door. In such cases, we recommend performing a factory reset for both the hub and the lock.

If your Oaks smart lock is not turning on, you can check a few things to see what could be causing the issue.

  • Check the battery level: If your device isn’t turning on, it may be because its battery is low. To check this, remove the battery cover and look at the red lights that indicate how much juice you have left in your Oaks locks.
  • Make sure you have the latest firmware installed: If you see an error code message when trying to pair or use your Oak, try updating its firmware by downloading the newest version from Oaks website (go to support > firmware updates) and installing it onto your device using these instructions (go here).
  • Check that your device is not in sleep mode: Sometimes, an Oaks smart lock will shut down if it thinks no one has touched or interacted with it for some time. To fix this problem, tap any button(s) on top of the unit until both sides light up green again!

Oaks smart lock isn’t unlocking.

If your smart lock is having trouble unlocking, check the following:

  • Does the door have a key in it? The lock won’t automatically unlock if there’s a key.
  • Is the battery level low? Check that your battery hasn’t run out and needs to be replaced (see “Installing batteries” in the installation instructions).

Oaks smart lock is locked, even though I didn’t lock it.

If you have a smart lock, the door may be locked even though you didn’t intend to lock it.

If this happens, check to see if your door is physically locked (it should be green in the app). If not, check if you have a notification on your phone from the last time you accessed/locked/unlocked the door.

If your door is locked, but the app says it’s unlocked:

Your smart lock may have been “locked” for a long time and has automatically returned to the last programmed state. This can be resolved by pressing the button on your smart lock until it beeps twice. Once you hear this sound, release and unlock should work fine.

The battery level indicator on my screen keeps changing.

Check the battery level indicator on your screen and ensure it’s high enough to keep working.

Suppose you see that it’s a Battery Alarm. If you forget to replace the old batteries, you can open your front door with a 9v battery on instant charging.

The deadbolt of Oaks smart lock is stuck out.

The IC cable is stuck with the locking tongue. You must correctly place the IC line according to the installation instructions of the Install Inside Mounting Plate.

How to reset Oaks smart lock?

Please press and hold the reset button 3s-5s until you hear the sound “DiDi” and try to connect again.

How to unlock Oaks smart lock?

You can try to unlock the Oaks smart lock in a few ways. We’ll walk through the process of opening your lock.

  • Via keypad: Suppose you have a keyless entry pad or keypad; long press “#” on the keypad and hold 2s to lock. Enter #passcode# on the keypad to unlock.
