The Weiser app requires a Bluetooth connection to remove the lock, but you can’t connect via Bluetooth.
I have a new smartphone; I could connect to the Weiser lock for a while but soon lost connection.
I thought, let’s delete the Weiser lock from the app and then try to re-add it. But it won’t let me because I have to have a Bluetooth connection with the lock to delete it from the app.
So I go to your site, which lists “step 1 – Delete the lock from the Weiser app.”, but the app refuses to delete it if it can’t connect with it on Bluetooth, and the whole reason I’m trying various things is that it’s no longer connecting with Bluetooth.
This is very frustrating.

It seems like you’re stuck in a catch-22. The Weiser app requires a Bluetooth connection to remove the lock, but you can’t connect via Bluetooth. Here are a few steps you might try to resolve the issue:
- Check Bluetooth Settings: Ensure your phone’s Bluetooth setting is on and that your phone is discoverable. You may want to try toggling Bluetooth off and then on again.
- Ensure Proximity: Bluetooth has a limited range. Ensure your phone is within the lock range when trying to connect.
- Force Stop the App: On your smartphone, go to your settings and find the application manager or apps list. Find the Weiser app, and force stop the application.
- Restart Your Phone: Completely power off your smartphone and turn it back on. This can often reset some temporary issues with app functionality.
- Reinstall the App: If stopping and restarting your phone don’t work, you might try uninstalling and reinstalling the Weiser app. You’ll lose any saved data in the app, but it might allow you to reconnect to the lock.
- Factory Reset the Lock: If you still can’t establish a connection, performing a factory reset on the lock itself may be necessary. This should reset the lock’s connection to all devices and allow you to start from scratch. Please refer to the lock’s user manual or the manufacturer’s website for instructions.
- Contact Weiser Support: If none of these steps resolve your problem, I recommend contacting Weiser’s support line directly. They may have more specific troubleshooting steps and can guide you.
This advice is based on general troubleshooting steps for Bluetooth devices and apps. There may be more specific steps to take for your particular model of Weiser lock, so it’s always a good idea to check the user manual or Weiser’s website for specific guidance.
