Resetting an Emtek lock typically refers to electronic or smart locks, as traditional mechanical locks don’t have a “reset” function in the same sense. If you have an Emtek electronic lock, such as the Emtek Empower lock, you might want to reset it to clear all user codes or restore factory settings.
Here’s a general guide on how to reset an Emtek electronic lock:
- Open the door and remove the battery cover and batteries of the lock to expose the electronic components.
- Remove the interior escutcheon to access the reset button. The reset button is located beside the PCB cable connector.
- Reinstall batteries while pressing the reset button (Minimum of 3 seconds)ries. Release reset button
- Ensure the lock functions correctly after the reset. Test the default user codes (if any), and then set up your codes and test them.
- Once you’re done, replace the interior cover of the lock.
Note: Resetting the lock will erase all stored user codes and settings. Make sure you have access to the default codes or another means of entry (like a physical key) after the reset.
If you’re unsure about any step or if the lock doesn’t seem to reset correctly, refer to the specific user manual for your Emtek lock model. If you’ve misplaced the manual, you can often find digital versions on Emtek’s official website or by contacting customer support.
