Check if the battery has run dry. If so, replace the batteries and try again. Also, you can use a power bank. A micro USB can directly power the lock and activate the keyboard. Charging it via the ports under the lock

The Hornbill smart lock uses 4 AA batteries. If the battery is low, the hornbill app will display a low battery warning, and when you try to unlock your door, you may hear an alert sound from your hornbill lock. Remove the old 4 AA batteries and insert four new ones to fix this issue.

How to lock/unlock Hornbill smart lock from outside?
You can lock Hornbill smart lock from out using the app or keypad.
If you are using the app to lock/unlock Hornbill, follow these steps:
Open the Hornbill app on your phone and tap’ lock.’
If you want to unlock in a specific period, tap ‘Unlock for X minutes’ and enter the desired time range (e.g., 10 minutes). Then tap ‘Next’ followed by ‘Lock’ at the bottom of your screen.
If you use the keypad to unlock the Hornbill, press “#” and hold for 2s to close the door, enter the passcode, and press “#” to open the Hornbill smart lock.
Hornbill smart lock installation
To install your Hornbill lock, first, please remove your old lock parts:
Unscrew the faceplate from your existing deadbolt.
Use a screwdriver to remove the screws from both sides of the deadbolt’s back plate and then remove it by sliding it off the cylinder and turning it 45 degrees counterclockwise (this will be different with every lock).
lnstall new Hornbill lock Latch
Insert the latch and ensure it is parallel to the door face.
Install Plate:
Hole’s Diameters using the manes to drill holes as guide 3/8″ Fasten Smart Door Lock
Chisel 1 mm-2mm deep along the plate outline to allow the plate to be aligned with the door frame.
Insert the plastic lock groove and the strike plate into the door jamb, tightening with wood screws.
Install Keypad
Install lever into inner keypad plate.
Place IC wire, latch link bar, and double-screws through the holes on the deadbolt, as the picture on the right shows.
Pass the IC wire and the latch link bar to the mounting plate. Use one flat screw to secure with the keypad double-screw bolt. Use two flat screws to connect the mounting plate to the latch.
Identify Door Handing
The door is “Left-handle” if the hinges are on the left side of the door.
Whereas the door is “Right-handle” if the hinges are on the right side of the door.
Install Receiver Module
Please remove the battery cover. (Press the spring button with the sharp object and push the lid up first, then push it up.)
Connect the IC wires normally.
Use two short flat screws to tighten the receiver module’s inner battery groove. There is also a screw slot under the battery box.
Insert Battery and Install Back Battery Cover:
Insert 4pc (AA) l.SV alkaline batteries and slide the battery cover back onto the receiver module.
Remarks:
( 1 ) Alkaline batteries are recommended to stabilize the power supply; if you don’t use alkaline, battery performance will be significantly reduced.
( 2) All settings will be retained in the memory even if the batteries are completely dead. A micro USB can directly power the lock and activate the keyboard. They are charging it via the ports under the lock.

Take one of the batteries to power off the lock for about 5 seconds. Then, put in the battery, emphasize the lock, and press the button for about 10 seconds. Once you hear “Please enter the initialization password’: please enter “000#” to confirm. You will receive a voice prompt after resetting successfully.
