[Solved] Onity lock flashes red and green with the guest card
Onity lock flashes red/green with the guest card and won’t open, but the Master card works fine. I put new batteries in, but it still won’t open. I reprogrammed the lock and had the same issue.
Generally speaking, if your Onity HT22 or HT24 lock displays a flashing red and green light on the guest card when you swipe the guest key card, it is most likely that the guest in the room has used the privacy lock so that the room may be occupied. So please confirm whether a guest is in the room first.
Please also refer to the following official user manual for the solution.
If you know that the room is not occupied, use the PP to test the function of the privacy indicator.
If the indicator is faulty, the problem is either with the micro switch on the inside escutcheon, the privacy wire, or the circuit board of the lock.
To isolate the problem, first remove the lock from the door. Disconnect the privacy wire from the inside escutcheon but not from the outside escutcheon of the lock. Try the Guest Key again.
If you still get the flashing red and green light, the problem is with either the privacy wire or the circuit board of the lock.
If the problem goes away, the micro switch on the inside escutcheon is the problem. In this case, replace the inside escutcheon and call tech support for an RGA to send the part in for repair.
Remove the privacy wire from the outside escutcheon of the lock. Try the Guest Key again.
If you still get the flashing red and green light, the problem is with the circuit board of the lock. If not, the problem is with the wire. Replace the bad part and call technical support for an RGA to either send the lock in for repair or get a new private wire.
Did you try to use the Onity staff Card? Using the staff Card and the Onity lock flashes red and green means the battery is low, but you have replaced the batteries.
So please ensure to replace all the batteries and use all-new AA alkaline batteries.
Here are ore suggestions when your Onity lock displays a red/green flashing light:
Check Key Card Programming: Reconfirm the programming of the room key. Ensure it’s programmed with the correct room number and date/time settings.
Alternating red and green light: Deadbolt thrown or Out of Valid Shift. The indication is given if the deadbolt is thrown or a card is inserted that has a shift and the current time is outside that shift, indicated by alternating Red and Green LED indications and Low Beep.
Red and green light blinking simultaneously: Canceling Card. The card used in the lock is a guest or master canceling card, indicated by blinking Red and Green LED indications simultaneously and a low beep.
