I tried to install my Onity locks on a new door, but when I try to program my Onity electronics lock with Onity programmer, an error code says, “CLEAR THE LOCK.” It looks like mean need to reset the Onity lock.
So, does anyone know how to clear or reset the Onity locks?
If you are using and planning to install an Onity HT22 or HT24 hotel lock, when you receive the “clear the lock” error on the programmer, clearing or resetting the Onity lock only requires a few simple steps.
- Remove the Front Panel: Begin by removing the front panel of the Onity electronic lock from the door. This might require unscrewing or unclipping, depending on the model.
- Remove the Back Plate: Once the front panel is off, remove the back plate. This will expose the internal components of the lock.
- Locate the Grommet: Look for a small grommet on the right side of the connector. This is typically a small rubber or plastic piece to protect an internal component.
- Remove the Grommet: Carefully remove the grommet to reveal what’s beneath. This is usually done by gently prying it out.
- Find the Reset Button: You should see a small button under the grommet. This is the reset button for the electronic lock.
- Press the Reset Button: Press the button gently with a small pin, a screwdriver, or a tool. This action will reset the lock.
- Reassemble the Lock: After resetting, reassemble the lock by replacing the grommet, back plate, and front panel in reverse order.
- Test the Lock: Finally, test the lock to ensure it’s functioning properly.
This process effectively clears the lock, resetting it to its default state. Ensure you have the necessary permissions and understanding before resetting any security device.
Also you can use portable programmer to reset or Initialize your Onity HT22 or HT24 lock.
But please note, the INITIALIZE function is generally used the first time a lock is installed. It establishes the room number for the lock and loads all the lock data. You should only use this function if you have replaced a lock on a door.
To initialize or reset a Onity lock, follow these steps:
1. Connect the PP to the console and use the LOADPORTABLE PROGRAMMER function.
2. Go to the lock and connect the PP.
3. Turn the PP ON and select INITIALIZE with the MENU key.
4. Select the room number from the UP or DOWN arrow keys. Make certain to select the CORRECT room number.
5. Press the green TX key.
6. Disconnect the PP when finished.
This lock is now initialized. Make a Guest Card for the lock and test it. Also, be sure to test the Master Card(s)
